JAMES STOUT

Born in Canada, James Stout started training at age of 13 at The School of Alberta Ballet in Calgary. After two years dancing there recreationally, he moved to study full-time at the Goh Ballet Academy in Vancouver. During his time there he participated in several competitions and was a finalist at competitions in Hong Kong, Beijing, and Varna. He was then awarded a full scholarship to continue his studies and graduate from The Royal Ballet School in London, England in 2007. 

Since joining Het Nationale Ballet in August 2007 as an Aspirant (Corps de ballet 2008; Coryphee 2010; Grand suet 2011; Second Soloist 2012; Principal 2018) 

James has danced leading and soloist roles in ballets such as: Sylvia, La dame aux Camelias (J. Neumeier);Swan Lake, Romeo and Juliet, Ginastera (V. Dantzig); Cinderella (C. Wheeldon); The Nutcracker and Mouse King (Eagling and V. Schayk); The Sleeping Beauty (Sir P. Wright); Serenade, Symphony in C, Agon, (G. Balanchine); Trois Gnossiennes, 5 Tangos, Four Schumann Pieces, Variations for Two Couples, Grosse Fuge (H. van Manen); Reverence, Timelapse, Day 4, Overture, The Grey Area, Tristan + Isolde (D. Dawson); Bolero (Pastor) 2nd Detail, Steptext (W. Forsythe).
